Sustainable Energy Europe Campaign
BIBM, as a Member of the European Concrete Platform, is now an official Campaign Associate of the Sustainable Energy Europe Campaign 2009-2011 which goals are to raise awareness and change the landscape of energy.
This Campaign was launched by the European Commission in 2005 in the framework of the Intelligent Energy-Europe programme which will contribute to achieve the European Union's energy policy targets within the fields of renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, clean transport and alternative fuels.

Within the framework of this Campaign, the European Concrete Platform organised an event during the European Sustainability Week (9-13 February 2009). It promoted the use of concrete as a construction material that can help achieving the targets for energy efficient buildings, thanks to its thermal mass for example.
The EUSEW is the key annual reference point for sustainable energy issues in Europe. The events organised during this week (in the European institutions and throughout Europe) covered key topics that highlighted the multi-sectoral nature of sustainable energy development and stress the need for everyone to work together towards a common goal.
