The General Assembly is the governing body of BIBM. It brings together all the member federations to discuss horizontal issues and decide on the annual programme. Every three years, it elects the President on the occasion of our Congress.
The implementation of the programme is in the hands of the Board. Composed of seven representatives of federations, it decides on the strategy, the budget and the policy to adopt to meet the guidelines provided by the General Assembly, and meets when necessary.
The Environmental, the Marketing and the Technical Commissions, chaired by Directors of national associations, translate horizontal issues into messages and organize BIBM practical work.
Chaired by the Secretary General of BIBM, the Meeting of Directors allows the Directors of the national associations to meet annually to exchange information and coordinate mutual actions.
BIBM headquarters are based in Brussels and administer the whole organization. The permanent members of the Secretariat coordinate the efforts of the BIBM bodies, prepare position papers and communicate those to the EU institutions and other audiences in Brussels in order to get a constructive and coherent message.
